Rajiv Sharma
Rajiv has 25 years experience in mapping technologies, from rudimentary Russian mechanical map plotters to the latest state of the art GPS, Aerial Photograph Interpretation, and Satellite Imagery Analysis. Rajiv currently teaches GIS as part of the STEM initiative in Anne Arundel Community College and Northrop Grumman (on contract) in Maryland. His teaching experiences in premiere institutions in India and the United States, combined with knowledge of remote sensing, earth observing systems, Geo-processing, Geo-analysis/ Geo-statistic/3D Analyst, Arc SDE/Arc GIS Server and Cloud Computing makes him well equipped to provide training and consult in this cutting edge science. He holds a Graduate Degree in Math, Physics, and Chemistry, an AA Degree in Software Engineering, a Master’s in Defense Studies and International Relations from JL Nehru, Aptech and Madras University in India, and a Graduate AAP in GIS from the Johns Hopkins University. He has worked on a NASA grant and recently been a Project Manager for a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation grant for higher education(STEM). In his earlier career he was a Colonel in the Indian Army and retired after 25 years after command of a Mechanized Combat Group.
